Mechanical Engineer



Working for a leading technology consultancy in a highly creative, technical environment, you will have a leading role in contributing to solutions on a wide variety of challenging projects, from the initial concept and analytical stages through to prototype delivery and manufacturing introduction.



Our cleint is a product and process design and development consultancy based in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire. They work at the leading edge of a broad range of areas including clean technology, packaging and dispense solutions and medical devices. They are looking for an outstanding mechanical engineer.



To be successful, you will have strong creativity with a good understanding of engineering principles. You will be able to lead or contribute to multi-disciplinary teams working in a wide range of technical disciplines, and be able to deliver demanding projects to high quality, on time and on budget. You must be self-motivated, comfortable with presenting your work and ideas to clients and very adaptable.



You will ideally have:



1st or 2:1 from a leading university in Mechanical Engineering.

Strong creativity coupled with an analytical and enquiring mind

Excellent communication skills

Some experience in one of our principal industry sectors, gained either in industry or in a consultancy





The role:



To take a leading role in mechanical engineering. You should be comfortable with many of the areas described below.



Duties:



Lead and or contribute to those aspects of projects which cover the analytical, creative and development aspects of mechanics, fluids, thermodynamics, control engineering, structures and design for manufacture

Manage the activities of associates and sub-contractors

Manage projects

Assist with sales activities in growing our business i.e. by contributing to and writing proposals or thought pieces for prospects and attending sales meetings
